Hair Tracker Part 23: May 2017

Hey friends!

I hope you're all having a great day.

I thought I'd pop in and update everyone on how my hair's growing!
Here is a length picture for today!

My hair is measuring just under 44" now, hooray!
I'm past classic now, and am on my way to mid thigh length, probably. It seems like that should happen some time this year.

I keep saying I'm going to do a hemline trim, but, that still has yet to happen. I'll get around to it eventually, though...

Anyway, until next time!

    1. Hi! Goodness, I did not see your comment right away! My apologies! ><;

      Anyway, regarding my haircare routine, it kind of just depends on things like the weather, humidity, etc, but basically, right now it looks like this:

      1. 2 step CO-wash. Suave or any cheapy silicone-free conditioner to 'cleanse' the hair and make it easier to detangle, then followed up by a silicone conditioner (usually bis-aminopropyl dimethicone or amodimethicone are my go-to cones) from my ears down. The 'cones really help keep my tangling down to a minimum ^^ I do occasionally shampoo! That depends on the weather and what I'm up to. As it gets more hot and humid, I shampoo more regularly.

      2. While my hair is damp, I spray Selkie herbal hair detangler to act as a leave-in hydrator. I have noticed my hair is much softer and easier to handle when I make sure to do this step. I can definitely tell when I leave it out ^^

      3. When my hair is dry, I can detangle. My hair does NOT like wet-detangling, so I wait until it is dry the next morning before I work thru any remaining tangles. I use a tangle teezer, and have found it to be my favorite brush! :D

      4. Also when my hair is dry- any oiling or finishing cremes, etc, can go here. I have found that my hair HATES when I try to put oil on my hair if it's even slightly wet. My oils of choice are either henna sooq's cocoveda oil, or mineral oil. That's down to just whatever I'm feeling that day. Mineral oil is much lighter and doesn't tend to make my hair feel weighed down at all. Cocoveda is a much more substantial oil that I prefer if I know I'm going to be shampooing or, if I'm going swimming or something like that.

      For treatments, I like henna, cassia, and hennasooq's sweet honey hair treatment. SMT is also nice, but lately I have not found a conditioner that plays well with it so I've not done it.

      Hope that helps! I think I might do a post pretty soon-ish on my whole haircare wardrobe ^^

    1. Hi! Thank you for the nice comment!

      So as of right now, I am focusing on getting to 48", which would be about mid-thigh length. I am not sure beyond that yet! I think knee-length would be really cool, but it would also be a lot trickier to wear down! Sometimes, at this length, I have to plan to wear it down, so I can only imagine what it'll be like when it's longer!

  3. I'm certain that you will achieve your next goal of mid thigh, and also possible knee. Your hem line is beautiful.
