Happy Hair Day! 5 Years of Growing

Hello, everyone! I'm so excited to share my most recent length picture with everyone! Why?
Because this marks 5 years since I began my hair growth journey! :)

In 2012, I cut my hair from 31" to 16". My hair was in decent shape, but it was beginning to get dry and tangly at the ends. I'm sure there was a lot that I had done in the years leading up to that chop that had not been kind to my hair.

With all the knowledge I'd gathered online, and lots of helpful support and encouragement from the LHC, I grew my 16" bob to a full 42" mane!

Today is a big deal for me- I don't really think I can call my hair truly classic length, but I have some stragglers that are definitely there already! Within the next few months, I think my hair will definitely reach classic length, which was a goal I'd set for myself years ago!

I'd like to continue to grow my hair and maintain a nice hemline. I think my hair will be due up for a nice hemline trim, since I've noticed that at these lengths, I get a bit more taper than I used to. I'm confident that the rest of my hair just needs a little time to catch up, though. :)

Until next time!

  2. Lovely color! Do you use henna/cassia blend or just henna?

    1. Hi thank you!
I'm using Nightblooming's Rusalki strawberry blonde blend, so while I don't know the exact percentage, I am pretty sure there is more cassia than henna in that blend. :)

    1. Hi there, wow, I did not see your comment! I've been going through a lot of life stuff, so my apologies!

I tend to trim either every 1-3 months. Depending on how the condition of my ends are, I trim anywhere from 1/4 inch to an inch off! I like to check every few weeks to see how my hair is doing. Lately I don't find my hair needs as much trimming, probably because I leave it alone.
